he Marian Friary Immaculate Gate of Heaven in Munster began with the generous donation of land on Henderson Road by the Catholic Van Der Baken family. Prior to the construction of the friary, the friars resided in Swanborne, Perth from January of 2003 until July of 2006. After the friary was finished, they moved to Munster which is about half an hour from the city.

The community is a fairly modest-sized friary which can house about 10 friars with living quarters appropriate for the life of the friars. A future chapel and multipurpose hall are planned for future construction to facilitate some of the apostolate and services of the friars in the area.
